West Orange Project Graduation
General Information
PROJECT GRADUATION, the all night
drug-free, alcohol-free and smoke-free graduation party is sponsored by the
West Orange High School PTA. As a PTA, we have made a strong commitment to
promoting a safe, wholesome, yet entertaining environment in which our
graduates can celebrate for the last time as a class.
The tradition that began in the mid-1980s as
our community's response to the many hazardous and harmful activities often associated with high school graduation
celebrations. It is a chaperoned all night drug, alcohol and
smoke-free celebration for graduating seniors, promoting
the message that celebrating without alcohol, cigarettes and drugs is the right
choice. The location, entertainment, food and transportation are
provided! Many volunteers and sponsors work together
to make graduation night safe and memorable for all the right
reasons…and we always receive an enthusiastic response from the
graduates in attendance.
The cost per student
attending Project Graduation is about $90. To make
the evening affordable and available to all graduating seniors, Project
Graduation counts on the generous support of sponsors and fundraising
activities that are held during the course of the year. The goal of Project
Graduation is to offset 80% of the $90 cost per student. Please
help us with your tax deductible donation!
To make this a successful event,
the WOHS PTA needs to reach out to the entire West Orange
school community for help.
